Training Philosphy
"Make Haste Slowly"
"Good Things Come to Those Who Wait"
"Patience is a Virtue"
All of these adages apply to how we train. With over 30 years of experience in training horses, time and time again, the answer is that taking time to do things right at the beginning will pay big dividends in the long run.
While we try to avoid labels, our methods would best be described as "classical", in that the techniques we use to teach horses have been used by master horsemen for hundreds of years.
Once Upon a Time...
Jinx was just getting started.....
Before trainer Jim Hitt developed him into THE horse to beat in Half-Arabian trail, "Jinx" (WGA Ima Copy Katnic) was one of the many horses Mike started at the William George Agency for Children's Services. It was obvious right from the start that with the right program he would be a super star and we immediately thought of our good friend Sandy Augustine and prepared this video to show her. Mike distinctly recalls showing this video to Sandy and Jim when we caught up to them at US Nationals and not long after than he was on his way to Colorado!
