In addition to all the main ring action here at the Virginia Horse Center, there's been plenty going on in the Sport Horse world.
Coordinating all the classes in the Reel arena is Marie Taylor and her excellent crew!
Except for in the Dressage classes, all the Sport Horse Action (including the over fences classes) were double judged, both judges qualifying horses for Region 15.
This year the Reel Arena was devoted entirely to Sport Horses. The action in Reel started on Thursday morning with Sport Horse Under Saddle and the Hunt Seat Equitation not to jump. Afternoon was devoted to Sport Horse In Hand Hunter Type followed by the Sport Horse Under Saddle Championships.Friday morning continued with primarily Sport Horse Under saddle. Both morning alternated "Hunter Type" and "Dressage Type" under saddle classes. One hour after the conclusion of the under saddle classes, the sport horse action moved over to the Wiley Arena for the over fences classes.
Saturday and Sunday the Reel Arena was the site for the dressage classes. Both English and Western dressage was offered and very well supported!
The last day at the show I had some extra time and took a walk. I was hoping that this road would wind all the way around the cross country course, but unfortunately this is where it ended. With a gorgeous view! Perhaps when we return in July for the Region 15 Championship show I'll put on some better foot gear and see how far I can go!
